Hip hop is more than just dope songs, it’s a LYRICAL DOCUMENTARY of the lives that are touched by it.
Nothing gets to me more than jammin to a HIP HOP track and feelin that the lyrics are talking about me. Like how _the song tells my story_. Whether it was KRS ONE in the 90s or J. Cole in the present, rappers have always told our stories through their lyrics. I've always found [beauty] in how songs relate to me, from the [pursuit of greatness] in a Drake joint to the anger in an Eminem track many people hear their stories in these lyrics.
So make sho you get familiar with your story and who ever it is telling it.
